On the road Again

The last few months have been spent handling estate matters for my beloved sister.   It feels good to literally be back on the road again.   This will be a short blog but wanted to tell everyone about a couple of places my husband and I found recently.

While driving through Ripon WI around lunch time we spotted a restaurant where the parking lot was full and people were parking a block away and walking in.   That busy – we figured must be good.  We were not disappointed.   The name is Mr and Mrs. P’s located at 1100 W Fond du Lac St, Ripon, WI – it is a combination bakery and cafĂ©.   Considering the number of cars we thought we would be waiting a bit but were seated immediately and despite the crowd waited on quickly.   They serve breakfast and lunch so my husband decided to try a 3 egg and ham breakfast plate and I opted for a meatloaf sandwich served with homemade chips and cucumber salad.   We barely had time to check out the ambiance when our meals arrived.   OMG – everything was amazing.  The flavors were spot on the portions were way above average.  http://www.mrandmrsps.com

The other must stop is right in my backyard or should I say just across town.   It’s called The CinnamonStick a Specialty and Bulk Food store - located at 4017 Lien Road, Madison WI.   I have written several times about visiting the Amish store in the Montello area – this place is very similar but the prices are more reasonable and a bigger variety of specialty items like fused oils and gluten free products.  While as the owner admitted their website sort of sucks, it will give you an idea of the extensiveness of their product line.   Your best bet though – stop in and browse for a while.  So glad we took a back road to our planned destination and found this store.     http://www.thecinnamonstick.net
Glad to be back on the road and plan to be posting more adventures and places to check out very soon, but in the mean time be sure to take the time to visit Mr and Mrs. P's and The CinnamonStick.
